Notice to Travelers for “Taiwan Tea Adventure”

Dear traveler,

These tours, designed by the Taiwan Tourism Bureau, enable foreign tourists to experience tea picking, tea tasting, local cuisine, tea production DIY, and tea drinking while enjoying stage performances in different tea-growing areas.

Taiwan was once a famous tea exporter; its Oolong tea was awarded first prize at the Exposition Universelle of 1900, a world's fair held in Paris. One type of Taiwan’s Formosa Oolong Tea was even named by Queen Victoria “Oriental Beauty” as a way to praise its unique scent. In addition, Taiwan has grown black tea for more than 100 years. The Taiwanese black tea shares the same reputation with other teas, such as Oolong tea and Wenshan Pouchong. Thanks to ideal climates and environments, tea gardens are distributed widely from the south to the north on the island. The quality tea products have been widely accepted by not only local residents but also foreign tourists. In recent years, tea garden tour packages are welcomed.

To deepen your knowledge about Taiwanese tea and tea appreciation, the Tourism Bureau will offer the following free gifts:
a meal of local cuisine
one cultural performance
a tea-related gift
opportunities to experience tea picking/tea production/tea tasting
tea products at discount prices

In addition, 10 lottery awards will be given to 10 lucky tourists. We hope that, when you return home, you will share your experience of exploring tea culture in Taiwan with your relatives and friends.

We wish you a healthy and happy tour of Taiwan.
